Conway's Game of Life

This is conway's game of life, with the original rules, with additional DRAWING rules that show more information about how the algorithm is working (newly born/dead cells display with their own unique colors).  So gliders, and other GoL constructs will work as expected, but the "animation" will look slightly different.  I think it ends up looking a lot more interesting!

Click to add a cell, middle click to remove a cell, and right click to start/pause the simulation.  You can scroll the mouse wheel to change the simulations FPS or use PageUp/PageDown to set the FPS to the lowest/highest the simulation supports.

You can download the installer to run it locally outside of the browser.
